1 cup sugar, divided

1 cup cake & pastry flour

1½ teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

⅓ cup vegetable oil

3 large egg yolks

2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest

6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

 

Glaze

1⅓ cups sugar, divided

⅓ cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 lemons)

Candied flowers or silver dragées, for garnish (optional)
